Speaking of Grief with Karen Trench

Tagged as
Coming February 2nd!!

Karen Trench, the host of Speaking of Grief considers the topic of grief and loss as more than simply an “important” topic, but rather, a vital one. Sadly, there is a societal stigma surrounding death in general. And that stigma extends to those who are grieving a loss. Our grief is barely discussed or tolerated and is very often regarded as though it were an illness—something the griever is told to “get over” and get over quickly.
Karen hopes to help shift this perspective by encouraging her listeners to, as she puts it, let loose their grief---to talk out loud and unabashedly about any sort of loss that has caused them pain and suffering. For the past six years, she herself has been doing just that: letting loose her grief after having experienced a profound loss.
When Charlie, her beloved husband of 23 years, took his own life, Karen’s world was rocked to the core. Her overwhelming shock and grief led her on an almost desperate quest to find some measure of solace; some scrap of meaning in her loss and suffering. Her quest became a spiritual awakening that ultimately led her to a knowing that she wanted to help others who were on the same journey. In 2019, she published her award-winning book, Love Loss Light-Illuminating the Path Through Grief that tells her story of losing Charlie and the many blessings that were bestowed upon her on her quest to heal her shattered heart. Her fervent wish for the book remains the same for her show, Speaking of Grief; that her personal journey through profound grief after a profound loss will inform yours and help illuminate your path.
Each week, Karen will share many of those blessings, insights, and moments of awareness and enlightenment with her listeners. Her guests will include other authors, podcasters, and life coaches who will discuss their own unique stories of love and loss, healers representing many different modalities, both traditional and others of a more metaphysical nature, spokespeople from various organizations that support others as they grieve and heal, or who will address topics such as suicide, end-of-life issues, and more.
Karen feels there is something deeply sacred in sharing something that is so intrinsically human; the grief and grieving that stems from love and loss; a connection that is the universal tie that binds all of humanity. She hopes that Speaking of Grief will provide her listeners a soft place to land each week and give them some measure of comfort in knowing that they are not alone and that they can and will survive whatever hardship or challenge has been laid upon their path. She looks forward to hearing from her listeners because she firmly believes that the enormous weight of grief is lightened when it is shared; when we allow others to shoulder the weight.
Karen also offers grief and loss life coaching. You can learn more about her and purchase her book at www.karentrench.com
