Dr. RC will share extraordinary resources and services that promote educational success as well as make a difference in the lives of ALL Social Workers and their contribution to changing the lives of children, adolescents, and teens of today. She will have open, and broad discussions while addressing many of the issues that we face in today’s society, and how being employed in the uniquely skill profession of Social Work throughout the years has impacted heartfelt, invaluable lessons that have been learned through her personal experiences along with the primary role of being a School Social Worker. Also, she believes that knowledge and experience of over 18 years, creates an empowering environment in which practitioners understand that service is not

“In the Moment for the Moment”, but rather being a Change Agent while sharing real life facts, giving examples, and providing data research along with personal stories as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion discussions are being conducted. In addition, Dr. RC serves as a liaison, and child advocate along with collaborating and consulting with school administrators, faculty, and the community when exploring the needs of the Whole Child. She received both her Doctor of Educational Leadership (2007), and Educational Specialist (2006) degrees from Argosy University, Sarasota, FL, a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University- 1993, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Voorhees College in 1990.

Dr. RC is a certified School Social Worker and School Screener Ambassador for the BASC 3 – BESS (Behavioral Emotional Screening System). A Curriculum Coach for Sources of Strength – Universal Suicidal Prevention Program, Diversity Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate that issued by the University of South Florida Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education. Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist Sex-Trafficking and Exploitation (CCTSS) by the Trauma Institute International, Certified as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor by the National Council for Behavioral Health. In addition, she is certified as a QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Instructor for Suicide Prevention, Facilitator with the Council on Alcohol and Drugs for both STOP and SUPER Stop Programs. Certified Mental Health First Aid., Facilitator as a Darkness to Light Sexual Abuse Prevention Training from Stewards of Children, Suicide Prevention Trainer: Lifelines – Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, Trauma/Brain 201 – Building Resiliency, and Check and Connect. Her professional/national memberships are as follows: Southern Regional Representative for the School Social Workers Association of America, and Executive Board Member for School Social Workers Association of Georgia (SSWAG), School Social Work Association of Georgia. A Legislative Team Member (SSWAG), member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Stone Mountain Lithonia Alumnae Chapter), National Association of Social Workers (NASW), National Association of Social Worker-Georgia Chapter (GA-NASW), School Social Work Association of Georgia (SSWAG), School Social Workers Association of America (SSWAA), and The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW).
